A Joyful Celebration of Stories: Little Luminaries Story Time at the JSAAHC
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – Spark a lifelong love of reading in your little one at Little Luminaries Story Time, a free and engaging event hosted at the Jefferson School African American Heritage Center (JSAAHC). This special story time is scheduled for Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM.
Designed for toddlers and preschoolers ages 2-5 and their caregivers, this 30-minute session is more than just a reading—it’s a vibrant celebration of community, culture, and connection. Held within the walls of a vital Charlottesville cultural institution, the program provides a unique opportunity to introduce young children to the richness of Black history and culture through joyful and accessible storytelling.
Each Little Luminaries Story Time is a thoughtfully curated experience featuring:
- Uplifting Stories: Listen to beautifully illustrated picture books that highlight African American characters and share inspiring narratives.
- Engaging Songs: Participate in cheerful, rhythmic songs and movement activities that are sure to get little bodies wiggling.
- Community Building: Connect with other local families in a warm, welcoming, and culturally rich environment.
This program is perfectly tailored to encourage early literacy skills, helping toddlers develop crucial pre-reading abilities like vocabulary, listening comprehension, and an appreciation for books.
